These multi-day tours are open to group members who semi-regularly come on normal group day rides. Where it is necessary to limit the number of participants on these tours due to accommodation or logistics limitations, priority will be given based on attendance on the normal group rides since the last multi-day ride. Additional trips and further details of the tours will be added as the planning progresses.
Danube - Passau to Vienna - 3rd to 8th September 2026
This tour is based on the previous Danube Tour - September 2017 and allow those who joined the group after this date, a similar experience. Gary Pilbrow is organising and leading the tour with ten participants already signed up.
Centre based cycling holiday in Luxembourg - 7th to 13th June 2026
With the success of the popular centre based holidays in France over the last two years, David Curtis is once again leading and organising another one, this year, based in Luxembourg. There are twelve participants traveling in four cars, with their bikes. The outward and return journeys to Luxembourg will be split over two days with an overnight stop at Orchies booked for the outward journey. The trip will be based at a hotel in Clervaux from Monday evening through to Friday morning, with rides planned for each day.
Spring tour - the Kent Coast over two days in Late April or early May
There was a vote on a range of options for a Spring trip that resulted in a clear preference for a two day UK tour rather than a day trip to France or Jersey. So this will be a variation of the Viking Trail around the Kent coastline that we did 7 years ago, but in the opposite direction. We have not fixed a date as the intention is to book it when the forecast indicates settled dry weather. The route starts in Canterbury and heads to Folkestone, then follows the coast around to Faversham and back to Canterbury. The intention is an overnight stop midway at Ramsgate. The route is 96 miles long with 950m ascent, with two thirds of the ascent on the first day.
As someone will no doubt ask - are there any shortcuts? Yes - at the start you can head more directly for Dover and at the end you can miss out the section from Whitstable to Faversham and use the Crab and Winkle rail trail back to Canterbury, reducing the tour to 77 miles and 760m ascent in total.
Summer tour - the Wye Valley, Forest of Dean and the Severn - July
This two day tour starts in Chepstow and follows the Wye Valley upstream, climbs out the valley over to Cinderford and then down to the Wye Symonds Yat to pickup the Peregrine Path beside the river to the overnight stop in Gloucester. The way back heads for Raglan and Usk to Cwmbran and the Monmouthshire Canal towpath that runs downhill for six miles past 32 locks to Newport. From there we take the NCN4 back to Chepstow.
Autumn tour in the Cotswolds - September
A two day tour starting and finishing in Cirencester and taking in Minchampton, Stroud, Gloucester, Winchcombe and Northleach with an overnight stop in Tewkesbury. There are flat bits and there are hilly bits -93mls and 1200m ascent.
